Fundraising and Trekstock

Hey Everyone,
If you have been following my journey you will know of the fundraising I have been doing. I wanted to keep everyone updated of where the donations will be going to. I wanted to split them between charities who I have played a part in my journey and of course help others going through the same. Life with cancer can be a lonely place, when everyone around is just ‘doing life’ at times you can feel lonely because you feel lost, almost like you are rattling around between each treatment. I can’t speak for after treatment as I am not there yet, but one thing I do know is that there is incredible support out there after. I feel happy knowing this, and although I haven’t been able to take part in the activities that Trekstock provide, I can’t wait to be finished with chemo and have a ‘team’ for support. What I am trying to say is just knowing that there is a team there that understands and connects young adults together is enough for me right now, and I am so so excited to take part in the events Trekstock offer soon.
Cancer doesn’t have an age, but one thing I have learnt is that we are all on different journeys, all at different stages in our lives, for me I am 33, I get married this year and I one day hope to have children, Trekstock get this, they get the lifestyles of those in their 20’s and 30’s.
For me keeping active throughout treatment has been a huge help, I also know that exercise will play a huge part in my healing process and I am excited to get involved with Trekstock’s exercise and support programmes especially the Nordic Walking.

Through exercise support, practical advice and an active online and offline community, our programmes tackle social isolation, improve quality of life and provide young adults with the tools they need to get moving again after cancer puts their life on hold.
